I&#8217;m expecting two quick-tongued responses today from other bloggers, but I hope that there is more than a fast wit applied to an argument about the way that states behave and how that shapes education policy debate. I didn&#8217;t use <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldcat.org\/oclc\/37392803&amp;referer=brief_results\">James Scott&#8217;s book<\/a> in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shermandorn.com\/Accountability-Frankenstein.html\">Accountability Frankenstein<\/a>, but I easily could have (and probably should have). <\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s probably one logical direction for some good academic work to head in, after the solid work done by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1589010906?&#038;camp=212361&amp;linkCode=wey&amp;tag=sherdorn-20&amp;creative=380733\">Manna<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0700614435?&#038;camp=212361&amp;linkCode=wey&amp;tag=sherdorn-20&amp;creative=380733\">Mcguinn<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0807746673?&#038;camp=212361&amp;linkCode=wey&amp;tag=sherdorn-20&amp;creative=380733\">Debray<\/a> (three new scholars: go buy their books!).
