Earlier this week I was forwarded a spreadsheet with a number of sections in the college (including in my department) where the classes database did not list classrooms or days of instruction. \u00a0And then there was this:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>No End Time assigned for this section<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know about you, but that&#8217;s a little scary.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, yes, and if your campus uses Blackboard, there&#8217;s this incredibly humiliating button students have to click every time they turn in an assignment through Blackboard:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Submit<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Every time I see that button, I read it as<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Kneel<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I&#8217;m uncomfortable with asking students to do that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It had to happen this year, and I guess it&#8217;s inevitable I spotted this in my second week as department chair.
