My answers were a technical way of say, &#8220;Gee, I don&#8217;t know, and here is why it&#8217;s complicated,&#8221; as well as, &#8220;It&#8217;s a bit premature to say that anything at the trial justifies or undermines the administration&#8217;s claims in firing him in 2003.&#8221; Gerstein&#8217;s a smart reporter, which means that probably 70% or more of the article will be accurate and in context.  He had also talked to my coauthor Greg McColm on the article we wrote, so I&#8217;ll be curious in comparing notes with Greg.<br \/>\n(Hey!  I take Phil Graham&#8217;s quip about journalism being the first draft of history seriously.
