This month, a federal judge in Tampa, Florida, <a href=\"http:\/\/lakelandledger.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=\/20060627\/NEWS\/606270319\/1005\/NEWS02\">dismissed the complaint of a fired Polk County principal<\/a> directly because of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.supremecourtus.gov\/opinions\/05pdf\/04-473.pdf\">Garcetti v. Ceballos<\/a>.<br \/>\nFormer Kathleen High School principal Mike D&#8217;Angelo was fired after an outstanding evaluation, and D&#8217;Angelo claims it was because he was investigating the possibility of turning the high school into a charter school. In explaining his decision, Judge Richard Lazzara said (according to a transcript quoted by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lakelandledger.com\">Lakeland Ledger<\/a> article,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>You know, I&#8217;ve always been taught that for every wrong there&#8217;s a remedy. Well, there was a remedy here, which turned out to be hollow. So I say to you, Mr. D&#8217;Angelo and Mrs. D&#8217;Angelo, I think this is the first time I&#8217;ve ever done this&#151;I apologize to you.
