(Hat tip: <a href=\"http:\/\/edspresso.com\">edspresso<\/a>.) Kudos to the authors on it.<br \/>\nAnd, unusual for an area in my research expertise, it&#8217;s already out of date. <a href=\"http:\/\/epaa.asu.edu\/epaa\/v13n51\/\">Warren&#8217;s 2005 paper<\/a> was released while the report was in peer review and was addressed briefly in a footnote; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epi.org\/content.cfm\/book_grad_rates\">Mishel and Roy&#8217;s book<\/a> isn&#8217;t mentioned anywhere. Please don&#8217;t blame the authors&#151;the ED&#8217;s internal review process can be slower than academic journals&#8217;&#151;but it means the report should be read cautiously, limited to the grade-based methods analyzed in it. The omissions are a reflection of the literature&#8217;s quick turnover, not necessarily flaws in the authors&#8217; work.<br \/>\nNo, I haven&#8217;t had a chance to read it thoroughly&#8230; in my copious free time at the beginning of the semester.
