For us thus far in Tampa, the adjective of choice is &#8220;wet,&#8221; since it&#8217;s raining.&nbsp;And in our household, the air is filled with zebra finch song (on Friday, we acquired two companions of our older finch). The adults are up with vegetarian <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hoppin'_John\">hoppin&#8217; John<\/a> on the stove, but the children are still in bed. <\/p>\n<p>Since I had spent much of the last week frantically finishing the book manuscript revisions, I caught up with my to-do list yesterday, did one side of household finances (paying bills!), and wrote a few thank-you notes to my mother-in-law, who took us to a local bookstore when we visited her recently, and to my mother, who sent the household a DVD of pictures from her and my father&#8217;s trip to the Galapagos Islands in 1998 and pictures from her and my daughter&#8217;s trip to Newfoundland in 2005. She also sent us <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Pieces-Intelligence-Existential-Poetry-Rumsfeld\/dp\/0743255976\">Pieces of Intelligence: The Existential Poetry of Donald H. Rumsfeld<\/a>&nbsp;(2003), which is one step above <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bookbase.com\/search;jsessionid=67D58DB208DA5A37EF88B239CCBB0222?dealer_login=cromwell&amp;bookId=12308.1&amp;method=POST\">The Wit and Wisdom of Spiro T. Agnew<\/a>&nbsp;(1969): The Rumsfeld book has some words in it.<\/p>\n<p>Today brings some organizational tasks at home and some relaxation.
