Or, rather, not worried but justifiably anticipating attacks, if not having witnessed\/experienced them directly.<\/p>\n<p>So today, I&#8217;m remembering the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theroot.com\/articles\/history\/2013\/05\/double_v_campaign_during_world_war_ii_what_was_it\/\">Double-V campaign in World War II<\/a>, pushed by the\u00a0<em>Pittsburgh Courier<\/em>, as Black soldiers, veterans, and their families committed to make sure that they fought for citizenship at home at the same time that they committed to fight against dictatorship abroad.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This Veterans Day, many of my fellow Americans are worried about their vulnerability after a hate-filled national campaign.
