{"id":921,"date":"2007-04-05T07:58:39","date_gmt":"2007-04-05T11:58:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/shermandorn.com\/wordpress\/?p=921"},"modified":"2007-04-05T07:58:39","modified_gmt":"2007-04-05T11:58:39","slug":"trip-to-atlanta-but-no-pictures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shermandorn.com\/?p=921","title":{"rendered":"Trip to Atlanta, but no pictures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had a great time yesterday in Atlanta: talked at Emory, visited Morehouse College, spoke with a bunch of exciting graduate students in different disciplines.&nbsp; I&#8217;m going to be paying for it in the next few days in exhaustion, and my throat&#8217;s already telling me I should expect a head cold soon, but it was very nice.<\/p>\n<p>Unusual surprise of the trip: I stayed at the house of friends who live almost directly in the line that runs between the Clarkston, Georgia, field that the boys&#8217; soccer team known as the Fugees (named&nbsp;for the members who are all refugees from other countries)&nbsp;had been kicked off and the elementary school where they now practice (see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2007\/01\/21\/us\/21fugees.html?ex=1327032000&amp;en=1f840d4777d6768a&amp;ei=5088&amp;partner=rssnyt&amp;emc=rss\">NYT<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/templates\/story\/story.php?storyId=7761970\">NPR<\/a>&nbsp;stories).
