The basic story: nothing clear. Some scores went up slightly in terms of percentile rank, some went down, and a number stayed about the same. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fldoe.org\/news\/2007\/2007_05_17.asp\">spin from the department<\/a> is that the state&#8217;s percentile rank is higher than the norming population. That&#8217;s probably true of all states using the SAT-10: the Lake Wobegone Effect, to use Cannell&#8217;s term. <\/p>\n<p>Obvious caveat: I&#8217;ve never seen any educational purpose to norm-referenced testing.
