What is there to say about the ongoing story of mistakes in applying the Florida state algorithm for assigning a single letter grade to public schools? Somewhere in the country, at least one overwrought accountability system is going to break down every year for a variety of reasons. This year (again), it’s Florida’s turn.
Those of you who live outside the sunshine state, go ahead and laugh; we deserve it. You are so Floridian if your state department of education says this much — <———————–> — is six inches.
What was the equation and how did they screw up?
This is a huge blow to the credibility of the whole idea of grading schools, but I suppose it was bound to happen at least once.
But why only in South Florida??? I don’t get it.
