My thanks to the artists of today’s Shoe comic strip, who provide a wonderful metaphor for school reform (though today’s strip is not about schooling). You try to avoid quick fixes, you’re in it for the long haul, you try to make adjustments along the way, even though you know it’s expensive, the whole thing is traumatic, and often when you’re done, someone else tells you you’re out of date and need to start all over again.
It’s just like remodeling your kitchen.
