Tina Collins has an explosive charge in the UFT blog this morning, alleging that DFER comprises DINOs (Democrats in Name Only).
We'll see how DFER responds (as I'm sure they will). Some broader context: Wall Street tends to make and give money opportunistically. Traders were happy to donate to Obama and the Democrats in 2008 when they saw the ship sinking with Bush. But they've pulled back (was it Paul Krugman who called them whiners?), something that I vaguely recall happened two years into the last Democratic presidency. I have no clue how to read intentions of megamillionaires who give a relative pittance to DFER in the context of their broader spending, except that they generally have lots of money and they're in the business of making fast decisions and being perfectly willing to change their minds at a moment's notice.
